ECOLAB ACQUIRES AKJ’S CHEMICAL DIVISION

ST. PAUL, Minn. – July 15, 2014 – Ecolab Inc. has acquired the water treatment, car top dust control and freeze conditioning specialty chemical and service businesses from AKJ Industries, Inc., based in Florida.  Revenues were approximately $23 million in 2013. No other details were announced.

“This acquisition provides a good complement to our current coal industry offerings and service footprint,” said Timothy P. Mulhere, executive vice president and president, Global Water and Process Services. “It enables us to offer more sustainable solutions to our mining industry customers globally and expands our service capabilities for customers in the faster growing Western United States and Canada coal markets.”
